Pale Leopard Edible print for an animal/jungle themed cake in a light colour boho inspired colour. All our cake wraps are available in Wafer/Icing Sheet/Fondant.

HOW MANY PAGES DO I NEED

Our edible cake wraps are printed landscape and sold individually on border-edge A4 icing sheet pages (print size 20cm x 28cm). Your cake design, and how big your cake is, will dictate how many sheets you will need.

Below is guidance per diameter (the length around the cake) for an 8-inch/20cm (max) tall cake:

  • Up to 3.5 inch cake = 1 Sheet
  • 4 inch cake = 2 Sheets (only 1-2 inches will be needed from 2nd sheet so you may be able to use a trimmed piece from the top of the page if the cake is not too tall)
  • Up to 7 inch cake = 2 Sheets
  • Up to 10.5 inch cake = 3 Sheets
  • Up to 14 inch cake = 4 Sheets

If your cake is taller than 8-inches, then this will need to be considered in your design. If your cake is only 4-inches tall or less (or if you only need a print for a fault-line design), depending on the design, you may choose to buy half the amount of sheets as listed above in the guidance and cut the piece in half to give you two stripes.

EDIBLE PAPER & EDIBLE INK

Edible prints are best applied to your own cake fondant (using a very minimal brush of water or edible glue) for a more professional finish. You can also apply the sheets directly to buttercream (when it is still tacky but firm). Edible prints are best stored out of the fridge before being used (see 'Usage & Storage' below), however, cakes with edible prints can be stored in the fridge once made. Please be aware, moisture can build up on the cake if stored in the fridge. This will disappear once the cake returns to room temperature however we advise keeping your cakes in a sealed box when possible, and not touching the print if moisture appears to avoid smudging. Full guidance on how to apply your print will be provided alongside your order.

USAGE & STORAGE

All prints will be sent in a sealed packet. Ensure you keep icing prints sealed until you are ready to use them as this will help them stay fresh and help them not dry out. Keep out of direct sunlight and store flat in a cool dry place with no weight on top of them. Prints are best used as soon as possible, but if stored correctly and remain sealed, they will last for a minimum of 6 months from purchase (Best Before Date will be printed on each order). Once opened, icing sheets are best applied to your cake as soon as possible, as they'll soon start to dry out, become fragile, and will lose their flexibility. Avoid getting the prints wet on the printed side as this can cause the print to run - therefore ensure your hands and equipment is clean and dry before handling the sheets.
